2009 KMF Teaching and Performing Staff

BMI provides the very best songwriters, producers, publishers, A&R Executives, and other music professionals from the mainland that make up the majority of the KMF staff.
The Hawaii members of the professional songwriting staff are recruited directly by the Festival Management.

For 2009, we have some awesome professionals returning from previous years as well as many new names and faces.   Here is the 2009 line-up...

Jason Blume - One of those rare individuals to ever achieve the distinction of having songs on the Country, Pop, and R&B charts all at the same time! Blume's songs appear on Grammy nominated albums that have sold more than 50 million copies and include artists such as The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears.

Charles Brotman - 2005 Grammy winning songwriter and producer

Barbara Cane - Vice President and General Manager, Writer/Publisher Relations, BMI

Jeff Dayton - Staff songwriter and session guitarist on Music Row at Black River Music in Nashville, TN

Keola Donaghy - Assistant Professor of Hawaiian Studies, UH Hilo.

Marti Frederiksen - Leading producer/songwriter for such artists as Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Johnny Lang, Sheryl Crow, Buckcherry, Gavin Rossdale, and others

Paula Fuga - Na Hoku Hanohano award-winning artist and songwriter

Marianne Goode - VP of music for Lifetime Networks

Adam Gorgoni - TV and Film composer for shows such as "Aliens in America," "Sons and Daughters," and "Deadliest Jobs in the World."

Kevin Griffin - Platinum and Gold Recording Artist and Singer / Songwriter, formerly with Better Than Ezra.

Angie Jaree - Grammy-winning vocalist, recording artist, & producer

Sara Kapuchinski - Creative Director, Stage Three Music (U.S.)

Alicen Schneider - Head of music for NBC/Universal

Jake Shimabukuro - Internationally acclaimed recording artist & ukulele virtuoso

Phil Tripp - Founder of IMMEDIA! Public Relations in Sydney, Australia, specializing in strategies for helping artists penetrate overseas markets.  Phil is also the representative for Hawaii for SxSW Music, Film, & Interactive Festivals and Conferences.

Ka'iulani Visiko & Kimo Knox - Ka'iulani is Founder and Director and Kimo is Music Director of Gallery Kaua'i, Center for Hawaiian Studies & Performing Arts in New York State
