Keola Donaghy is an Assistant Professor of Hawaiian Studies at Ka Haka 'Ula O Ke'elikolani College of Hawaiian Language, UH Hilo, and a member of the Board of Governors of the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA).
He has composed over 50 mele, many in collaboration with multi-Na Hoku Hanohano Award Winner Kenneth Makuakane. A Ph.D. candidate in Ethnomusicology at the University of Otago in Aotearoa (New Zealand), he is currently researching perceptions of excellence in haku mele and Hawaiian vocal performance.
